Today in the shop, we are installing a new turbocharger on Eric’s 2001 VW Passat.
Turbocharger failure is a common on these cars with higher mileage. Common signs of a failed turbochargers are:
- Abnormal engine oil consumption
- Lack of engine power
- Whistling sound from under the hood
- Poor fuel economy
We’re replacing the turbo with a new K03 turbocharger, and should have him back on the road in a few hours. Here is the old, tired unit removed from the vehicle.
